Didn't quite make it to Quabbin yesterday. A swamp not to far away caught my interest . The Bluebirds on the title page were busy adding nesting material to a hole just below them.
The male Bluebird was defending the nest location from many Tree Swallows that wanted the same hole for nesting.
There where about twenty Tree Swallows in the area. The male Bluebird was extremely defensive in protecting the hole entrance. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.
Yesterday was a sitting at a swamp watching Bluebirds and listening to Peepers. Today....... white and wet !
