Not much going on in the boundaries of Quabbin this morning. However, the ride to and from Quabbin provided several opportunities.
This Turkey Vulture was enjoying a Woodchuck that didn't do so well trying to cross the street.
This Wood Turtle was a bonus !

A Day On Quabbin In A Boat
What a challenge with a camera. A moving boat and a moving eagle. Had to do a bit of cropping . I think it is a neat caption ( ABOVE). This was the last eagle of the day,
What a beautiful day to be out on Quabbin with a boat.
Rounding the first cove this morning it wasn't hard to pick this eagle out perched in a pine tree in the mornings first sun .
Loons where also plentiful
Time to call it a day

All Critters On The Move !
Mother Woodcock had a number of chicks. The female kept my attention with her broken wing "Act" as she drew me away from her little ones. My photo op was very brief , then on my way.
Bet this early morning Red Fox looking for breakfast would of liked stumbling on the Woodcock.
Red Squirrel busy gathering nest materials.
This Black Throat Female Warbler was busy collecting nesting material.
This Raven returning to the nest with breakfast.
A pair of Common Loons resting

Ventured out to a NW Gate this morning. Fog was fairly heavy when I started hiking.
Hiking along this thing caught my attention.
Clearly fell out of the cavity in the tree above it.
This is a Barred Owl Chick. Still many weeks from being a fledgling. As much as I wanted to help I would have let nature take its course.
One of the adult Barred Owls was overhead keeping a watch on things.
The Scarlet Tanger on the title page made for a nice way to end the morning

A Liitle Warm!
No complaints, better than snow.
I took a vacation day and put some miles on at a Northeast Gate., The Blue Heron above made for a nice photo.
This White Warbler singing his tune!
No shortage of turtles. They were everywhere enjoying the sun.
